This Symbol, it means so much more than our society gives it credit for. This isn't a symbol of our government or political drama. This is a flag of our nation - a symbol of freedom, hope, prosperity, community, what we are too one another and most of all the pride we should have when standing next to one another.
There is a lot of blood that has been shed over the years, some of it bad? Yes. Some of it good? Yes. The importance in me saying this is we must recognize what good has come from it and continue forward while also remembering the bad and realizing we have the opportunity to fix it and make the future better. This flag has brought millions from all over the globe hope for many generations and it seems as of late this has deteriorated what this Flag stands for. It stands for the individuals in this nation standing together for the common good, to unite and move forward the best way possible.
It has been heartbreaking for me to see images of those in our own nation, individuals we should be standing with burning and disrespecting this flag. This Flag was the start of bringing me back to reality when I didn't know what direction to head. I'm not talking about the young fruitful 19 y/o who decided to sign his name on the dotted line to become a United States Marine, but as the Veteran that was loosely guided back into society after an honorable discharge from the military. I struggled, life was completely different than my young molded mind was used too, I drank way to much alcohol, I didn't have a vision, I didn't have a path, I felt alone - I was completely lost. I didn't know what to do.
One day I looked at all my old tools with copious amounts of time I had on my hands I dusted them off and started to create, what a feeling that was. before I had known it a couple weeks had passed by and though I threw most of what I built into the burn pit one day while staring at my wood pile I saw something more. I started cutting the wood down, engineering the design to perfect spec and WHAM, there it was, my first Reclaimed Wooden American Flag pictured at the top of this blog.
Something that first day spoke to me in my darkest times and what came from that whisper was something that probably saved me from the least many more years of pain and anguish. With my creative intuition burning hot I continued to build, spread my message and what this flag means to me, a Symbol of Unity for all Americans that can stand the test of time.
As you can see now I have added more products than just my Reclaimed American Wooden Flags but they will always be the symbol that shines light on me in dark times, together we overcome and together we grow.
"One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL."
